The Faine House: Why We Do It

I spend most of my time here discussing retirement and tax efficiency, but today, I'm going to share something personal and very close to my heart.

Nearing the end of my NFL career and returning home to Orlando, my wife Brittnie and I wanted to get involved with the local community. We recognized a need specific to young adults aging out of foster care—they were becoming homeless at an alarming rate.

Did you know that when a foster child turns 18 and “ages out,” they almost always have nowhere to go?

We envisioned a program that would provide these worthy and often overlooked 18- to 23-year-olds with the consistent support they need and deserve.

Our mission became clear: to empower these young individuals to reclaim their lives, overcome traumas, and forge a path to independence.

The Faine House came to life to offer these young adults a safe and stable place to live while also—importantly—providing comprehensive support. In addition to a caring environment, they receive mental, physical, and emotional support, life skills training, financial literacy education, and much, much more.

And as we gear up for our annual gala Mission Possible: An Evening of Hope on May 18th, I’m sharing this side of my life with my professional network because I know many of you are caring, philanthropic people who will identify with this mission.

We host the gala in Orlando, FL, at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort where over 700 caring community members joined us last year. Some of my former NFL buddies came out and you can bet we turned the ballroom into a real party in celebration of our residents’ resilience.

It’d be my honor to welcome you to the 2024 gala as our guest and/or provide more information on sponsorship opportunities. Brittnie and the Gala Committee work tirelessly to put our sponsors in front of influential decision-makers, philanthropists, and Central Florida media.
